The SCEI-HE Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) is a forward-thinking program that prepares pre-service teachers as autonomous, versatile educators for children from birth to 12 years in early childhood settings and primary schools, developing advanced skills to support diverse learners—including deep expertise in a primary specialisation—while building strong relationships with children, families, and communities to create evidence-based interventions; it promotes critical engagement with historical and contemporary teaching theories, evolving learning models, innovative curriculum design, contemporary pedagogies, practitioner research methods, student and staff wellbeing practices, and technology integration to enhance engagement, equipping ‘ready-to-teach’ graduates to deliver stimulating experiences, manage positive, safe, and productive environments, address 21st-century challenges and global issues, collaborate in teaching teams, and foster meaningful partnerships with students, parents/carers, and the broader school community.

Graduates of this degree will be able to:
- Reflect critically on educational theory, policy and research in relation to impact on professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
- Apply advanced and integrated content and pedagogical knowledge, with inclusive understanding of indigenous peoples, places and perspectives and communicate clearly to create supportive and productive learning environments.
- Design and differentiate relevant curriculum to cater inclusively for diverse learners and promote participation.
- Integrate digital and design technologies to augment curriculum delivery and engage learners.
